The Institute for Health Policy is an independent, non-profit research institute that works to improve health systems and social policies in Sri Lanka and the wider region. The Institute is a regional centre of excellence for health policy research, working on its own, in partnerships and with sponsors, to improve health and social systems in Sri Lanka and the wider region, by supporting, encouraging and informing policy change, through quality research, analysis and training.

Our goals are to lead to more informed policy and thus better outcomes for all people by conducting independent research and by providing objective analysis and training, and to be a resource centre for Sri Lanka and the region.

We aim to achieve global standards of excellence in the work we do. We do not benchmark our work against others in the country, but see our mission is to provide the quality of analysis and comment that would not be otherwise available to our national and regional stakeholders and partners
