Tezpur Medical College & Hospital is a 500 bedded government teaching hospital. It is conceptualized as a modern tertiary care health facility for both under graduate and Post graduate students. It has the potential of becoming a hub for bio-medical research. Simultaneously, it is developing as a preferred destination of health care for the population of the state and locals in particular. Till now 2.5 lakhs out patients, 35 thousand in patients, 35 thousand emergency cases, 8 thousand major surgeries, and more than four thousand child births took place in this hospital besides other ancillary care. This hospital has enormous clinical material for medical students.

To encourage free flow of ideas and exchange of information amongst various Medical Colleges of the country, and develop collaborative research work with other centers and institutions of higher learning.

The Mission of this College shall be to create, uphold and develop an ideal academic environment for undergraduate and post graduate Medical education and research, to set a standard of tertiary health care with all modern facilities of investigation and treatment, and to establish other learning centers for Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical courses.
