About the Institute:
Till date this is the medical college with largest coverage area of West Bengal, which not only covers six districts of West Bengal like Maldah to Cooch Behar, but also patients come from allied border regions of other three countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan. It is located in Sushrutanagar, a sister township of Siliguri at District Darjeeling of West Bengal. Besides providing the tuition to the MBBS students, it is also enriched by its sister institutions like North Bengal Dental College and the College of Nursing in the same campus. Not only this, it also provides different paramedical courses run by the West Bengal Medical Council. The college was affiliated to the North Bengal University since its inception. Starting from the 2003 admission batch, it is formally affiliated to the newly formed West Bengal University of Health Sciences at Kolkata.
