National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital (NICRH) offers an energetic and dynamic environment and staffed with well trained professionals dedicated to cancer patient management, education and research. This is the only tertiary level center of the country engaged in multidisciplinary cancer patient management.
According to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ministry of Health and Rotary Club of Dhaka the latter built the Rotary Cancer Detection Unit (RCDU) and the Cancer Institute started working as an outdoor cancer detection unit only. Subsequently the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare decided to convert 50 bed hospital to 300 bed capacity.

The key vision of the institute is to provide modern detection and treatment facilities for cancer patients of the country; to provide specialized training facilities for the nurses and paramedics for cancer patient management; to run post graduate courses and provide training facilities on cancer for doctors.

The institutes mission is to create public awareness for prevention and control of cancer, conduct further research on cancer and make better arrangements for rehabilitation of the cancer survivors.
