Dr. Sampurnanand Medical College (or SNMC by its students and alumni) is a public medical college situated in the city Jodhpur of Indian state Rajasthan.completed its golden.jublee in 2015
It was established in 1965. In 1974–75 postgraduate course were also started. Presently post graduation is available in 19 different fields.[2] It serves the population of western Rajasthan. It is the major referral hospital for almost one-third of the state. SNMC has established itself as a leader in academic medicine and patient care. SNMC is one of the most favored medical school by CBSE and RPMT aspirants. Every year about 250 students enter MBBS course via CBSE and RPMT. Entrance to post graduate courses are via Rajasthan PrePG and All India Pre PG Exam.
It serves as leading trauma center and tertiary care center in the western Rajasthan.
This College was established by the Medical & Health Department, Govt. of Rajasthan in 1965. On 17th July 1965, the first batch of 75 students was admitted. Subsequently, the number of admissions per year increased to 250. The first batch of this college graduated in 1969. That year, this college was named after the renowned educationalist, politician, and freedom fighter, Dr. Sampurnanand. In 1975, postgraduate courses commenced. At present, this Institute is conducting 21 PG courses for 111 students every year.
The hospitals attached to Dr. SN Medical College are the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, the Umaid Hospital, the Mathuradas Mathur Hospital, the Kamala Nehru TB & Chest Hospital, and the Psychiatric Hospital.
