About the Institute:
Considering the death of Medical Professionals in West Bengal with the Doctor:Population ratio of 1:2600 Government of West Bengal decided to start a new Medical College of 100 MBBS student capacity, to cater specially to the population of rural Bengal, in a strategic location of Malda District which is the gateway of North Bengal and can also cater to the adjacent Districts. The medical college is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences. The hospital has 650 beds (including the Emergency and Private Wards). There are approx. 200 doctors (including faculty members, Sr. and Jr. Residents) and approx. 270 nursing staffs.
