About the Institute:
The extreme shortage of medical facilities in the region, prompted the KLE Society to establish the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College(JNMC) at Belgaum in 1963. The JNMC today stands testimony to the high professional standards of the KLE Society. The institute strives to be among the top ten medical colleges in India in the spheres of medical education, research and health care services. 1400 bed Dr. Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital,1000 bed Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Medical Research Centre, three Primary Health Centers and urban Health centers will be the epicenters of under graduate, post graduate and post doctoral training.
The JNMC, the prized possession of the KLE University, and a jewel in the crown of KLE Society, is among the top twenty medical schools in the country as per the national surveys conducted in 2007 and 2013. JNMC is geared to reach a new level of performance and set global standards in the years to come.
