About the Institute:
J & K Sher-E-Kashmir Institute Of Medical Sciences is one of the three government-run medical colleges of state besides Government Medical College Jammu and Government Medical College Srinagar. The college then became an under-graduate medical college of the SKIMS (deemed university) Soura and was named as SKIMS MC. The college used to admit 50 students every year but from the year 2013 MCI has granted an approval for admitting 100 students a year. The clinical posting of students is held at associated hospital of the college as well as at SKIMS Soura.
