About the Institute:
Government Medical College, at Akola, is the first medical college in the Akola region. It was founded in 2002. The college is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik. It has an intake capacity of 150 students each year. The attached teaching hospital - Survopchar Rugnalaya (Multispeciality hospital) was previously known as Main Hospital. It offers Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course of 5½ years duration, including 1 year of internship. Government Medical College Akola also offers internship period in which students develop their key skills under highly skilled faculty. It is well equipped with all basic and necessary infrastructural facilities in its campus.
