K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) was established in 1999. The Institution offers MBBS and MD/MS programs recognized by the Medical Council of India. Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital, the 1000 bed teaching hospital attached to the Institution provides all levels of holistic health care including major super-specialty services and provides excellent training opportunities to the students of the Academy.

The Institution has demonstrated a commitment to develop an active research program and has successfully generated substantial support form external funding agencies. The Institution has collaborations and research linkages with international and national organizations like the Wake Forest University, USA, University of Toronto, Canada, BARC Research Center – Mangaluru University, India and St. John’s Research Institute, India.
