About the Institute:
Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) named after Blessed Virgin Mary, is a multidisciplinary medical network of pedagogical, therapeutic, research and outreach programmes. AIMS traces its origin to Amala Cancer Hospital which was started in 1978. It is managed by the Devamatha Province of CMI Congregation founded by Blessed Cyriac Elias Chavara.
At present, Amala is home to a Medical College, College of Nursing, Nursing School, Super Speciality Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Cancer Hospital, Cancer Research Centre, Ayurvedic Hospital & Research Centre, a Homeopathic Hospital and Research centre, a Pharmacy Production Unit and Bethanygram (A home for the aged).
