About the Institute:
National HIV & AIDS Strategy (2011-2016) is NCASCs current guiding document for Nepal’s HIV response which has direct alignment with GoN’s Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP), Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and Nepal Health Sector Plan NHSP II, thus they have contributed directly in poverty reduction and MDG-related achievement in the country. NCASC is now in the process of formulating the new strategy for 2016-2021 that will align the centers collective efforts to reach Sustainable Development Goals.
Vision:
Nepal will become a place where new HIV infection are rare and when they do occur, every person will have access to high quality, life extending care without any form of discrimination.
Mission:
To achieve universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.
Reduce new HIV infections by 50% by 2016, compared to 2010;
Reduce HIV-related death by 25% by 2016 (compared with a 2010 baseline) through universal access on treatment and care services; and
Reduce new HIV infections in children by 90% by 2016 (compared with a 2010 baseline).
