The faculty of Public Health was set up in 1997 as a division within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and then became a separate unit in 2003. The faculty’s initial objective was to produce graduates to meet the increasing demand for personnel with expertise in healthcare and public health services in the areas of the northeastern provinces. The faculty of Public Health started on 27th August 2003 with the inauguration of its first dean, Professor Somjit Supannatas (Dr.P.H) who served until 18th December 2012 . On 19th December 2012 he was succeeded by Asst. Prof. Songkramchai Leethongdee (PhD).

Graduates from the faculty are trained to apply their knowledge gained from the degree programs to improve their work in accordance with the slogan “Wisdom of a Healthy Community”. The faculty has been responsible not only for producing graduates but also for conducting research and providing academic services in public health.

To provide excellent educational programs that prepare graduates to address the multifaceted health needs of populations, communities, and individual.
To conduct quality research and disseminate findings that are responsive to priority health needs
To encourage graduates to serve as active participants and leaders in Universities, public health, health practice, and health services in communities, through collaborative approaches to intervention, professional practice, and policy
To maintain the traditions and culture of Thais particularly in the knowledge of traditional health.
