Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is a medical college with 150 students intake capacity per year as approved by the Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot in the year 2006.
All the teaching departments of basic sciences are equipped with state of the art modern equipments, instruments and teaching aids.
The ADESH FOUNDATION has made a rapid progress and growth since its inception by introducing innovative and professional courses in medical sciences, allied health sciences, management and technical education. As the Foundation was identified as having potential of conducting and introducing programmes of research and innovations, a University by the name and style as ADESH UNIVERSITY was established under it’s fold in year 2012.

Adesh University has been established with a vision of making Malwa, the under-developed and backward belt of Punjab, a hub of the academic activity and a leading force in the field of Medical and Technical Education, complimented by research activities. University has the specific purpose of making provisions for instruction, teaching, education, research, training & related activities at all levels in disciplines of higher education including professional, medical/dental/ technical teaching, general education etc, particularly to the aspirants of the rural area

The objectives of the University include:
1. To provide teaching, education, research and training in all areas of medical, technical and professional streams, as per the needs of the industry and society in general.
2. To promote academic aspirants of the rural areas.
3. To undertake industry oriented teaching, training and research, and to provide employable skills with a view to contribute to the development of the society with specific focus on special groups of the society like women, armed forces, etc.
4. To promote ethical and moral values in the students in order to help them for character building.
5. To identify the specific educational needs of the society & fulfill the same.
